Pastoral Care Group

The Pastoral Care Group ensures that the housebound people still feel involved and are
brought up to date as to what is happening in their church so that they feel they are part of
something which is very important in their lives. Where required we give practical help as
well as sharing prayers with them. We regularly visit them in hospitals and nursing homes as
well as in their own homes.

When requested a small number of us visit a home with a minister to serve communion and
to share worship.

Once a year we arrange a communion service in church at a time of day which is more
practicable to them than our usual time of worship, and it is followed by a light meal. This is
an important time of fellowship for our friends.

This group is not constituted solely for the older age group and we give pastoral care to all
ages when the need arises.

As an additional aspect of pastoral care, flowers (which are donated by members of the
fellowship and arranged by a dedicated team) are delivered to those friends who are in need
of the Church's care or have a special reason to celebrate.
