Junior Church

Junior Church presently consists of a small but committed group of children and young people spanning the ages 3 to 14.  They are a lively bunch who enjoy being together and who have a growing understanding of God’s word.  More importantly they have also begun to make their own commitment to Jesus Christ.

Although we have no youth organisation at present, some of our young people attend a Christian Youth Group meeting on a Sunday evening at Gracious Street Methodist Church.

We have a small group of dedicated teachers and helpers in Junior Church, some of whom have attended the Vision courses led by York Schools and Youth Trust.

Junior Church meets in two groups – junior school age and secondary school age and both groups enjoy discussion, drama and craft activities.  The younger group enjoy attending bi-monthly Praise Parties held in York and are enthusiastic about sharing their experiences and songs they have learned with other Junior Church friends as well as the adult church.

For babies and children below the age of 3 a crèche is operated during each service.

Our prayer is that our children and young people will continue to grow in knowledge and of commitment to Jesus Christ and that as a church we would continue to develop our nurture of these bright and bubbly young people.
