Weekly morning worship: Sundays at 10.00am.
First Sunday of each month: Holy Communion
Informal evening worship: Second Sunday of each month: 'Taste and See'
Our style of worship is a healthy mix of the traditional and modern as our congregation includes people of a wide range of ages and aspirations. Kids.com share the first part of the worship and then leave to meet in their own groups. Our older young people plan and assist the Minister in leading the service on the third Sunday of each month (known as 'Partners'). We have a joint service with our sister church in Bilton each year where we come together to worship and share lunch. We have occasional joint services with the other four URC churches within the Harrogate area and we join with Churches Together in Knaresborough to celebrate special festivals.
We have a choir which is open to all – there are no auditions but all who feel they can play a part are welcome to join the choir whose main function is to encourage the congregation in its worship, but they also seek to take their worship to other churches and other venues. Choir Practices take place on alternate Friday evenings. The choir in its present form has been in existence since 1990, with a membership of about 15. The choir is supplemented by the Praiseand Worship Band who introduce and lead the congregation in some of the newer songs as well as leading worship in other churches.
The Choir and Band are always keen to take their forms of worship to other places and to share our resources and talents with other churches who may not have the same opportunities for music to be led in their services. They also present occasional concerts and entertainment for the congregation and have entertained in old people's homes and sheltered housing complexes.
