Cynthia Rylant in her book November, writes;
“In November, the air grows cold and the earth and all of its creatures prepare for winter. Animals seek food and shelter. And people gather together to celebrate their blessings with family and friends.” November, a time when nature starts to prepare for a time of dormant slumber. Trees shed their leaves, animals store food for the winter, some prepare to hibernate, to see the winter out, safe underground, warm and free from predators. And we humans begin the preparation for one of the busiest times of the Christian year, Christmas. Somehow, it’s right that it should be winter, short days and long dark nights, as we look forward to the beginning of Advent. A time of preparation for the celebration of the coming of the Light of the World.
Before the world began, Beyond all understanding, God was.
Fathering time, Mothering creation, Parenting all people, God.
Waiting for the right moment, Preparing the right way, intending the right woman. To give birth to His son, God
As you find your self swept up in the preparation for your celebration, give time to wonder at the miracle of it all. That God sent Christ into our world, at just the right time and in just the right place. That we might have light in our darkness, that we might have hope in our lives, that we might have peace in our souls. Our theme for this Advent and for Christmas is; “Jesus Light of the World”. May all our preparation’s for Advent shine Christ’s light on everything we do in His name.
