World Day of Prayer held at KURC – 6th March

The World Day of Prayer is a service that is part of a great wave of prayer encircling the globe, which begins as the sun rises over Samoa and ends some 36 hours later back in the Pacific as the sun sets over American Samoa. We were joined with 120 countries and islands around the world. Each year the service is written by a different country and this year it was prepared by the Christian women of Zimbabwe, who called on us to ‘Rise! Take your mat and walk’  They shared their challenges, difficulties and hopes for the future and invited us to support them.  Their theme was to seek love, peace and reconciliation.

There were about forty people who attended at our church in the afternoon for approximately an hour’s service, followed by refreshments.  It was a lovely service and we Thank those who participated and set up the church with fabrics and colours of Zimbabwe.
