Happy Retirement

It was with great sadness that we said ‘goodbye’ to our Minister Revd. Alan Crump on Sunday 18th February.  He is retiring after his Ministry with us this past six and a half years.  And, how the time has flown! We will remember his wonderful Ministry through emotional and innovative services and how he sustained us through the COVID 19 pandemic with Facebook Live reflections twice a day. It was so comforting to be able to ‘tune in’ during those times of fear and stress for us all. During his time with us, he has developed the outside of our Church with many displays at Christmas, Easter, Harvest and  many more to engage with our town and passers by, in the hope that the displays may tell them about our faith and most of all about our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a church he has certainly deepened and grown us in faith and mission and it is a legacy that we will comtinue.

He was a very enthusiastic leader of Welcome cafe, which is known for its fun and laughter and dare I say, silliness, which many have come to enjoy and love.

Most of all, his love of Jesus, and his easy way of communicating with all ages and his gentle humour will be greatly missed. And so, we thank God for Alan’s time and ministry with us and we will always feel proud and priveleged to have had Alan as our Minister.  We wish you and Shelley the very best for your retirement.  With love in Christ from all at KURC.
