Yet again we are running a Holiday Club during the week beginning Monday 27th July and running until Friday 31st July – from 10.00am-12 noon. The club is for all primary school aged children, including those who have completed the Foundation Stage. Doors open at 9.45am.
Seaside Rock will be our eleventh children’s Holiday Club and each year we welcome a large number of children receiving wonderfully positive feedback. The leaders and the children have a fantastic week and relationships are made between children and also with their parents.
This years Holiday Club focuses on the story of Peter – one of Jesus’ first disciples. Called from his job as a fisherman Peter became a fisher of people. We journey with Peter from the moment Jesus called him from his fishing nets, as he travels with Jesus and learns more about God than he could ever have imagined and as he realises just how amazingly forgiving our God can be.
There will, of course, be drama and craft, song and time for discussion, puppets and after all the business, time for a snack.
Through out the week we will see how Jesus demonstrated Gods power through acts of healing, showed compassion to those in need and ultimately died so that we can enjoy everlasting life. We see Peter deny knowing his Saviour and see him reinstated by his best friend and Saviour.
As a church, we are excited about the challenges of Holiday Club and we give thanks that we are supported in prayer by our wider church family. The cost of running this event has been met by the church and therefore there is no charge for any child attending.
Our aim is to provide children with good quality Bible teaching, combined with lots and lots of fun. Each session will be fast-moving, fun and creative and will include
Drama
Games
Craft
Songs
Puppets
Our Holiday Club will close on Sunday 2nd August with a special service at 10.00am when we will recap on the weeks teaching and activities – it would be great to see you there as well.
Each child will be well-looked after by a dedicated group of volunteers, all of whom have received training for the event and have been DBS cleared. If you have any concerns about your children attending Holiday Club, and you would like to discuss them, please do contact us on 0753441386 or e-mail holidayclub@knaresboroughurc.org. We will have a registered first-aider in the building at all times and your child’s safety is paramount at all times.
We are looking forward to serving you and your child/children and we hope this will be a very special time for all involved in the Holiday Club.
We hope to see you there!
